Pikey Peak – Junbesi – Phaplu Trek

The Pikey Peak – Junbesi – Phaplu Trek is a scenic and culturally rich short trek in the lower Solu region of Nepal. It’s an excellent alternative to the crowded Everest Base Camp trail, offering panoramic Himalayan views—including Everest—without the altitude strain or busy trails.

Highlights:

Pikey Peak (4,065m): A stunning viewpoint for sunrise over Everest, Kanchenjunga, Makalu, and more.
Thupten Chöling Monastery: A large and spiritually significant Tibetan Buddhist monastery near Junbesi.
Phaplu: A peaceful town with an airport, marking the trek's endpoint and return option to Kathmandu.

Day 01 :

Arrive Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel

Day 02 :

Kathmandu to Dhap

Drive to Dhap (Hile) by shared jeep or private transportation.
Stay overnight in Dhap.

Day 03 :

Dhap to Jhapre(2,820 m)

Drive to Dhap (Hile) by shared jeep or private transportation.
Stay overnight in Dhap.

Day 04 :

Jhapre to Pikey Peak Base Camp(3,640 m)

Trek from Jhapre to Pikey Peak Base Camp (3,640 m).
Overnight in a teahouse at the Base Camp.

Day 05 :

Pikey Peak Summit and Trek to Jasmane Bhanjyang

Hike to Pikey Peak Summit (4,065 m) for sunrise views.
Trek down to Jasmane Bhanjyang (3,550 m).
Overnight in a teahouse at Jasmane Bhanjyang.

Day 06 :

Jasmane Bhanjyang to Junbesi (2700 m)

Trek from Jasmane Bhanjyang or Junbesi to Phaplu (2,469 m).
Overnight in a teahouse in Phaplu

Day 07 :

Junbesi hiking, visit Monastery

Exploration in Junbesi or Thupten Chholing Monastery: A prominent 19th-century Tibetan Buddhist centre perched above Junbesi, home to around 80 monks and nuns. A 2–3 hr uphill walk rewards you with vibrant prayer halls and stunning valley views.

Day 08 :

Junbesi to Phaplu(2,469 m)

Day 9 :

Phaplu to Kathmandu by jeep

Drive back to Kathmandu from Phaplu by jeep.
